1790 Large original copper engraved antique map titled

"To the Right Honourable Sr ROBt SOUTHWELL Who attended his MAJty WILLIAM the Erd in his Expedition for Ireland in Quality of Principall Secretary of State for that Kingdom"

An fine example of this rare large engraved Sea Chart map showing the Bristol Channel with the Welsh coastline up to Chepstow and along Devon & Somerset up to Bristol. Large inset view of Naval Ships with details of sailing with King William 3rd from Duncannon Fort to King Road.  Compass Rose, Rhumb Lines and decorative Coat of Arms cartouche .

This map was created by the maritime Cartographer, Captain Greenvile Collins. Collins was an officer of the Royal Navy and prominent hydrographer who was commissioned by King Charles II in 1676 and appointed by Samuel Pepys (then secretary to the Admiralty) to chart the Coasts of Great Britain and the result was his 'Great Britains Coasting Pilot'.

This map is in excellent condition with central fold as issued. Overall size approx 62cm x 50cm.
