Scarce antique woodcut map of England, Wales, and parts of Scotland and Ireland, published by Sebastian Munster in the middle of the 16th century in Basle. The map shows England with east at the top. The royal flags of England and Scotland are represented. In the upper-left corner, there is a note comparing Latin place names with their then-modern vernacular equivalent. Relief is shown pictorially, and city size is roughly approximated in the same manner.

Size approximately 36.5cm x 30cm with central fold as issued.
