An original antique folding map published by E GRATTAN, MAY 16, 1836 showing from Hillingdon to Waltham Abbey, and Upminster to Croydon, with map key and explanations of signs etc. in the surrounding margin. This example appears to be 2 years earlier than the example recorded in Howgego 366 (July 3, 1838). Engraved by S I Russell. Dissected into 21 sections and laid to linen.

Condition is generally fine with some linen splits which have been lightly re-enforced on verso by Japanese Rice Paper.

Overall size once opened approx 65cm x 48cm.
