1760 "Vue de l'Eglise de St Martin a Londres".
A fine original antique vue d'Optique depicting the neoclassical interior of St. Martin-in-the-Fields church in London. The scene illustrates the grand interior designed by architect James Gibbs, showcasing towering Corinthian columns, side galleries, and an elaborate arched ceiling. By French printmaker Jean-François Daumont, these engravings were specifically designed to be viewed through an optical viewing device or zoetrope with a convex lens to create a strong illusion of three-dimensional depth.
