1954 A fine original vintage LONDON TRANSPORT RAILWAYS DIAGRAM OF UNDERGROUND LINES map with the design by Harry Beck. 

This version of the Underground diagram by H C Beck was redesigned after the 1953 edition. The Circle line is shown as a rectangle rather than a polygon shape. The River Thames has been redrawn with entirely horizontal and vertical lines. The District line is now shown in its entirety to the terminus at Upminster. The branching points of lines have been redrawn in a more pronounced style to give equal weight to each branch. The lines have been drawn thicker in comparison to the earlier version of the diagram. The escalator link between Bank and Monument has been included, shown as a series of steps.
